Rogue Wave!

New theory (and old equations) may explain causes of ship-sinking freak waves

Rouge waves is something I just started learning about in the past years. It seems that sailors would tell stories of clear days and all of the sudden a giant wave would come out of nowhere.

Rarely witnessed by survivors, it remained a sailors tale for generations until just recently a satellite was placed in orbit to photograph ocean currents did scientists find out that these 100 foot waves occur quite frequently. Someone on the globe right now there is one occurring.

Fascinating stuff. Surfs up.
